Who is HRNNI?

The Human Resource Network of North Idaho is a local non-profit organization for Human Resource professionals in North Idaho. Members are invited to participate in monthly membership meetings during which a speaker presents on various topics for HR professionals. We are a networking group of human resource and management professionals who enjoy discussing and sharing best practices in HR.


We meet on the third Wednesday of each month with the exception of July and August. Check in begins at 11:15 am. Lunch and Networking begins at 11:30.  Our speaker begins at 12:00 pm and ends at 1:00 pm. 



Current Officers


Katie has over five years of experience in business development. She has a passion for helping people find financial solutions, giving them every opportunity to live well. Katie has her SHRM-CP Certificate, a HR certification through North Idaho College, an Idaho State Health & Disability license, and a degree in business administration.


She is very active in her community as a member of the Coeur d'Alene Chamber Board of Directors, Kootenai County Police & Fire Memorial Foundation Board of Directors, Coeur d'Alene Rotary, President of the Human Resources Network of North Idaho, and is a founding member of the Lady d'Alenes Organization.


If she is not working or serving in her community, you’ll find Katie doing what she loves most, cheering her daughters on in their sports and extra-curricular activities.   


Rob Riley is a Principal/ Business Development Manager for Mercer Health and Benefits, which is part of the Marsh & McLennan Companies family. He joined Mercer in 2017 after spending the previous 10 years in the Payroll/HR field with ADP. One of his greatest joys is helping employees understand their employers’ health benefits and how to get the most value out of every healthcare dollar spent.

Rob grew up in Northern California and graduated from Utah Valley State College with his degree in business. He converted his high school job into a business, building custom swimming pools. He likes to volunteer in the community with his local church, CDA Trap and Skeet Club and Community Action Partnership. Rob, his wife Tiffany, along with three children moved to Coeur d’Alene in 2006. Now with a total of five kids, they are heavily involved with local sports and enjoying the mountains and lakes that the great State of Idaho has to offer.

Kelsey Moen, SECRETARY

Kelsey is the Operations Manager for Benefits Exchange Northwest, LLC. She is a licensed Health and Life Insurance Agent, Certified COBRA Administrator, and holds her Consumer Directed Health Care Certification. She works hand in hand with the HR departments ensuring their benefit administration is as streamlined as possible.

She currently serves on the Leadership Coeur d'Alene- CDA Chamber of Commerce Committee, and is a member of Kootenai County Young Professionals and Lady d’Alene’s. Kelsey is a graduate of Leadership Coeur d’Alene Class of 2016 and Advanced Leadership of Coeur d’Alene Class of 2018.

When she isn’t at work or attending community events, you will find her acting as a professional taxi driver for all things football/basketball/any other kid related activities.

Kelsey’s passion is helping others and keeping this community as amazing for her kids as it was for her growing up.

She has been a member of HRNNI since 2017.

Stacie Joiner, TREASURE

Stacie Joiner is a Human Resources professional currently at Raycap, Inc. in Post Falls, Idaho while simultaneously aiming for her Business Degree at North Idaho College. Stacie has a demonstrated history of working in the manufacturing industry for last 10+ years and is skilled in Payroll, Accounting Processes, ADP HRIS systems, Benefit Administration, Employee Engagement, System Integrations, and Customer Service. She is a key partner in the benefit administration, compensation planning, employee relations and recruitment for Raycap. Stacie has been a HRNNI member for many years, and this will be her 2nd year on the board.


As an Idaho native Stacie enjoys hiking, camping, sitting on the beach at Priest Lake, and taking scenery pictures. She likes going to as many concerts as she can, and you can find her at the Gorge each Labor Day weekend to see her favorite the Dave Matthews Band. Her favorite activity though is spending time with her son, daughter and her family.


Andrea Woempner is an HR professional at North Idaho College with over 13 years of experience in the public sector. Prior to North Idaho College, she worked in the investment sector. She is a 4H leader and is active in the high school sports program at Lakeland High School.   She is a member of the Regence Employer Wellness Advisory Council, the Society for Human Resource Management, Colleges and Universities Professional Association, and also serves on the conference planning committee for the Intermountain West CUPA-HR chapter  


She has been a member of HRNNI since 2006 and looks forward to the opportunity to serve in the Membership position. 


Patrick is currently the Human Resources Manager for LA Aluminum. During his time in HR he has worked in the manufacturing space, corporate banking, healthcare management, and for the Federal Government. Prior to his work in HR, Patrick spent 10 years serving in the United States Army, conducting five tours throughout Iraq, and Afghanistan; upon leaving the active army, Patrick currently serves as a squad leader in the Washington Army National Guard. While his pursuit to obtain ongoing higher education continues, Mr. King has obtained a B.S. in Human Resources Management, a Human Resources Management Certificate, Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification, and is actively pursuing a Masters in Health Care Administration.


In addition to traditional employment, Patrick presently serves on the Board Advisory Committee for Project Search, and acts as a Business Mentor. Furthermore he spends time volunteering with the Wounded Warrior Project, and the Military Order of the Purple Heart.


When he isn’t working or volunteering Patrick enjoys coaching youth sports, fishing, wakeboarding, snowboarding and golf.


He has been a member of HRNNI since 2017.


Kerri Straw, Human Resource Consultant for OmniaHR, which works closely with Managers and HR personnel on benefit administration and HR compliance. Kerri has over 20 years in the medical field and over 10 of those are related to insurance. During that time, she has worked for doctor’s offices, hospitals, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators.  Kerri currently holds her Life & Disability License with the State of Idaho. Always seeking to further herself, Kerri graduated with a Technical certificate in Business with Human Resource emphasis from North Idaho College, and is currently pursuing further education in Business Leadership.

Kerri has lived in Idaho for over 20-years, and enjoys spending time with her family in the great outdoors camping, hiking, kayaking, and fishing.  On beautiful days, you will find Kerri on the back of her Harley-Davidson actively seeing the local region.
