Who is HRNNI?

The Human Resource Network of Northern Idaho (HRNNI) is a nonprofit professional community serving HR practitioners, business owners, and organizational leaders across North Idaho. Our mission is to elevate the practice of human resources and strengthen how organizations support and lead their people.

Through monthly expert-led programs and meaningful peer connections, HRNNI provides practical education, relevant resources, and a trusted network for those responsible for the people side of business.

If you hire, lead, develop, or support employees, you belong at HRNNI.

 

We meet on the third Wednesday of each month, with the exception of October and November. Check-in begins at 11:15 am. Lunch and Networking begin at 11:30.  Our speaker begins at 12:00 pm and ends at 1:00 pm.

Katie Schreiber, SHRM-CP

President

Katie Schreiber, SHRM-CP, is a trusted HR strategist who transforms workplace culture while mitigating employment risk for organizations across multiple states. As an HR Consultant with OmniaHR, a division of Alliant Insurance Services, she helps leadership teams unlock their human capital potential through strategic HR practices that drive measurable business results.

Grounded in integrity, connection, and growth, Katie combines strategic expertise with genuine human understanding. Her strengths in empathy, communication, and developing potential mean clients feel truly heard while building lasting organizational capacity. Over 15 years in Human Resources, she has guided organizations through complex employment challenges, delivering reduced legal exposure, improved engagement, and stronger workplace cultures.

Her expertise spans employment law compliance, performance management, leave administration, organizational development, and compensation analysis. Katie holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Western Governors University, maintains her SHRM-CP certification, and holds a Health & Disability Insurance License for the State of Idaho.

She is most proud of her two adult daughters, who are thriving, being married to the love of her life, and having founded Lady d’Alene’s, a professional women’s organization advancing female leadership in the region. Katie and her husband enjoy spending time with friends and extended family, and relaxing with her puppers Luna (Pomsky) and Dexter (Bichon Shih Tzu).

Genevieve Perrier

Vice President

Genevieve Perrier is the HR Manager at Shabby Fabrics, where she supports employees and helps foster a positive, connected workplace culture. She is passionate about professional development and strengthening the local HR community. Genevieve is excited to use her SHRM scholarship from HRNNI as she continues expanding her HR knowledge and leadership skills

Amy Hagerty, PHR/SHRM-CP

Past President

Amy Hagerty, PHR, SHRM-CP is the SVP/Human Resource Manager for Mountain West Bank, which currently has 330 employees throughout Washington and Idaho. Amy’s passion is employee engagement and creating a positive work culture. She has over 25 years of experience in Human Resources, mostly in banking.  Amy grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Mansfield University of PA with a BS in Psychology and Human Resources. After graduation, she moved to Upstate New York to begin her career in HR. In 2012, she moved to beautiful North Idaho.

 

Amy has been actively involved in SHRM Chapter boards since 2001 and has been on the board of HRNNI since 2013. Amy has been the Business Advisory Council Lead for Project SEARCH since 2017, an international organization that helps young adults with disabilities find meaningful employment. She has also been on the board of Tesh, Inc. since 2022.

 

In her free time, Amy enjoys volunteering in the community, being active outdoors, gardening, baking, travelling, beekeeping, and spoiling her black lab Gus.

Jane Salmons, SHRM-CP

Membership Director

Jane is an experienced HR professional with 18+ years in HR management, along with additional experience supporting HR teams as a business analyst and training developer. She has served as ALLWEST’s HR Manager since 2018 and is a SHRM‑CP who’s especially passionate about emotional intelligence, effective communication, and coaching managers and employees toward greater self‑awareness.

 

A Spokane native now firmly rooted in North Idaho, Jane enjoys diving into DIY projects, home‑improvement shows, and a reading a good mystery during the colder months. In the summer, she’s happiest out on Lake Cd’A boating with family and friends and soaking up the sunshine.

Heather Andrews

Treasurer

Heather Andrews is currently HR Director for ACI Northwest. She started her HR journey 7 years ago, after 1 year in accounts payable. Since then, she has learned so much about HR and continues to blossom in it.

 

Heather is working towards her associate's degree in accounting with NIC. She plans to pursue her Bachelor's in Psychology. She is currently certified in Idaho Worker’s Comp, and holds a Basic HR Certificate and a Basic Computer certificate from NIC.

 

Heather was born and raised in Coeur d'Alene, and has lived here her whole life. She loves spending time outside, especially in the sun. Heather has a passion for horses, and her favorite hobby is horseback riding. Other hobbies Heather enjoys are camping, hunting, fishing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. In the winter, she likes to go sledding and enjoys movies curled up in a blanket. Her absolute favorite thing to do is spend time with her fiancé and two girls, ages 14 and 5.

Catherine Monsey, SHRM-CP

Social Media Specialist

With a background in Operations Management and Human Resources, Catherine provides mission-critical administrative support and backup to the human resource team on a daily basis. Her knowledge and support help maintain the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) by ensuring data integrity, report generation, and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. Her role is also responsible for assisting with Recruiting, Training, New Employee Orientation, Onboarding, and Employee Lifecycle Management.

Catherine has her Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from EWU. Some of her favorite hobbies include hiking, kayaking, and taking day trips in the local area. She also enjoys attending concerts, listening to music, painting, and trying new things with friends and family.

Romona Morris, SHRM-CP

Secretary

Romona Morris, SHRM-CP is the Chief Operations Officer for Tesh, Inc., which is a developmental disabilities agency in Coeur d’Alene. Romona is a north Idaho native and has been working in some capacity of the HR field for over 25 years and directly focused in HR for the past 8 years. Romona is passionate about learning, whether in formal educational settings or through casual seminars, webinars, or on-the-job training. Outside work, Romona enjoys spending time with family, especially her two rambunctious grandchildren.

Victoria Wheeler

Member at Large

Victoria’s shared passion for helping others prompted her to begin her journey with Packard Wheeler Succession. She graduated in 2018 from Eastern Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in communication and a minor in Spanish. Victoria works alongside the benefits team to help capture new business opportunities. She is approachable, reliable and believes that building and maintaining relationships is the key to success.

Victoria is a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters INW and enjoys helping young girls who may be facing adversity and helping to change their lives for the better. She also serves as the Communications Director on the board for the Inland Northwest Society of Human Resource Management (INSHRM). Outside the 8 to 5, you can find Victoria cuddling with her goldendoodle, reading and spending quality time with her new fiancé!

Heather Erikson

Member at Large

Heather is a lifelong North Idaho resident and founder of Coeur Solutions, LLC, is a leadership coach and consultant dedicated to turning aspirations into achievements. Combining her passion for community with her expertise in team development and strategic planning, she empowers individuals and teams to reach their goals. As a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, Heather leverages her unique blend of Strategic, Maximizer, Arranger, Activator, and Relator strengths to guide her clients. With a Master’s in Adult Organizational Learning and hands-on experience as a people leader, she brings a practical and insightful approach to fostering growth and success in today’s workplace. When she's not coaching, you'll find her enjoying the beauty of North Idaho through hiking, boating, and berry picking.

Kerri Straw

Kerri Straw is a Human Capital Executive with over 20 years of strategic HR leadership experience. She founded and built OmniaHR from the ground up into a thriving consulting division, growing her team of high-performing professionals while driving consistent double-digit growth. As a licensed insurance agent and certified HR professional (PHR, SHRM-CP) with an MBA in Human Resource Management. 

 

Kerri specializes in guiding organizations through complex HR challenges, including training and development, compliance management, benefits strategy, and organizational development. Her proven track record spans employee development programs, benefits strategy, and employee engagement, which directly impacts bottom-line results.
