About the event
Speakers: Jamie Major and Julie Krapfl - Ellie Mental Health, Vanessa Moos, Children's Village
Details: How local companies / leaders can support mental health issues in the community. We will be covering mental health statistics post COVID, the stigma of accessing mental health services, and how they can help their employees break through that stigma and access services.
Bio: Julie Krapfl- Julie has a Masters degree in Marriage & Family Therapist which means she is trained to think of a person as being part of a system – part of a relationship, a family, a community, and part of the world. Her passion lies in working with couples in all stages of their relationship, with individuals that are in a major life transition, with children and their parents, and with young women learning who they are. Julie is skilled in working with individuals with Anxiety, Mood Disorders, ADHD, Asperger’s, Family Conflict, Grief, Parenting, Pregnancy/Prenatal/Postpartum, Relationship Issues, Self-Esteem, and Women’s Issues. Julie is a licensed clinical supervisor, trained in CBT, EMDR, and many other forms of therapy.
Bio: Jamie Major - Entrepreneur and owner of Ellie Mental Health of N. Idaho, along with a few other small businesses. A passion for mental health awareness and the dire need in Coeur d’Alene led Jamie to open Ellie Mental Health clinic with a ‘clinician-first’ approach. Jamie is a former HR Executive (SHRM-SCP) turned small business owner and franchise consultant. Prior to the business world and relocating to Coeur d’Alene, Jamie was a Police Detective in metro Atlanta for about 10 years. Jamie holds an MBA from Mercer University, undergrade degree in Business / HR from Reinhardt University, and completed an executive HR Certificate from Kennesaw State University. Jamie has been married to Melissa for nearly 15 years, and together they have 2 children: Abigayle – 12, Jackson – 8.
Bio: Vanessa Moos, MPA - Vanessa is the Chief Executive Officer of our local nonprofit Children’s Village. Vanessa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in communications from John Carroll University, a private Jesuit school. She earned her master’s degree in Public Administration with her husband’s GI bill from California State University in 2015.
Before Children’s Village, Vanessa worked for the American Cancer Society for 12 years, growing from entry-level fundraiser to one of three national managers of volunteer onboarding for the global organization. During that time, Vanessa and her Coeur d’Alene native husband Eric spent 12 years as a Marine Corps family. Eric’s aviation career as an F/A-18 Top Gun pilot moved them around the country frequently; in 2018, Vanessa and Eric left the marine corps to move their young family back to Coeur d’Alene so their kids could feel the beauty of a life in Coeur d’Alene, just like Eric. Their son Baron is a first grader at Sorensen and their youngest Everett will be in kindergarten next year.
